Snake River: Pine City to St. Croix River is a 11.9 mile lightly trafficked point-to-point trail located near Pine City, Minnesota that features a river and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for nature trips, birding, and whitewater kayaking and is best used from March until October.

Hidden off the road in the Chengwatana State Forest, this little-known footbridge crosses the Snake River of Pine County. If you’re craving peace and quiet in a natural setting, this bridge is well worth the walk to get there. The footbridge in the Chengwatana State Forest — often called the Million Dollar Bridge by locals — is easy to find if you know where to look. Head down Pine County Highway 8 towards the St. Croix River. Soon, you will come to a small, unadorned parking area. The path is not well-developed. In rainy weather, it is often muddy. In the winter, you may find large snowdrifts.
