Hidden off the road in the Chengwatana State Forest, this little-known footbridge crosses the Snake River of Pine County. If you’re craving peace and quiet in a natural setting, this bridge is well worth the walk to get there. The footbridge in the Chengwatana State Forest — often called the Million Dollar Bridge by locals — is easy to find if you know where to look. Head down Pine County Highway 8 towards the St. Croix River. Soon, you will come to a small, unadorned parking area. The path is not well-developed. In rainy weather, it is often muddy. In the winter, you may find large snowdrifts.
